| At 12:19 p.m., units were dispatched to the area of Colton Point Road and Point Lookout Road in Mechanicsville for a motor vehicle collision with injuries. Chief 2A, Squad 2, and Engine 23 responded.
911 callers reported a single vehicle off the roadway in a ravine. The driver, had a medical emergency prior to the crash and was unconscious but breathing. A second occupant was also injured.
Units arrived to find the vehicle approximately 20 feet off the roadway with one patient trapped. Chief 2A established command. Rescue crews initiated extrication while EMS evaluated both patients.
Maryland State Police Trooper 7 was requested for two flyouts. A landing zone was established at Chopticon High School.
Extrication was completed at 12:35 p.m. Both patients were transported by air to trauma centers. Command was terminated after patient transport. |
