October 16, 2024

At 0812 hours, Rescue Squad 2, Utility 2, UTV 2, Chief 2, and Chief 2B, responded to Charles County in the area of Trinity Church Road and Budds Creek Road for an incident involving forestry equipment and entrapment.

Crews from Mechanicsville arrived with Rescue Engine 1001 and Engine 1015 and loaded numerous cutting, lifting, and stabilization equipment items onto Command 2B and UTV 2.

The crews traversed about a 1/2 mile down the power lines in the woods and found one patient pinned underneath a piece of forestry equipment. The Rescue Group was established and requested Command to start the “Go-Team”

Crews worked for about an hour to stabilize the equipment and extricate the patient.

The patient was turned over to MSP Trooper 2 for transport to a trauma center. The Go-Team arrived and staged on the scene.
