Water Transfers in the Rural Setting

By Mechanicsville Volunteers
July 29, 2024

On July 29th, at 1900 hours, members trained on setting up a multi-tank dump site operation and transferring water between the two (or more) tanks in an operation like this.

We at the Mechanicsville VFD carry numerous ways to transfer water between tanks on our Engines and Tankers, and tonight we trained on 3 of those set ups.

A majority of the structure fires we run in Mechanicsville and surrounding communities require us to utilize “Rural Water Supply” operations. Knowing what this entails for us and our members we are always working to improve our efficiency in this amongst all our other training.
