On Tuesday, at 1236 hours, Companies 2, 1002, 1005, 1015, 1003, 7, and EMS Units were alerted to 38401 Pleasant View Drive for a garage fire.

Chief 2, Chief 2A, Engine-Tanker 24, and Tanker 2 responded with 10 volunteers just after dispatch. Engine 23, Engine-Tanker 224, Brush 2, Utility 2, Utility 2A, and UTV 2 made the response quickly thereafter with 9 additional volunteers.

Engine-Tanker 1002 arrived first and found a detached garage well involved with fire and extension to a single family residence, and the surrounding woods and grass.

Engine-Tanker 1002 and Engine-Tanker 24 deployed two attack lines to the main area of fire and quickly began to extinguish the same. Chief 2 arrived and assumed command of the incident.

Chief 1002 was notified of a brush fire on arrival, away from the original incident,t from debris that was rapidly spreading to a nearby residence and already burning a shed. A working incident task force was quickly requested along with 4 brush units.

Chief 1002A(Attack Group Supervisor) notified command of a patient on side Charlie of the residence. Ambulance 796 reported to the patient and began patient care. A helicopter was requested Priority 1 and Engine-Tanker 54 established a landing zone nearby.

Crews worked for approximately one hour to extinguish an approximately 30’x30’ garage, the home, and roughly 2.5 acres of woods that were on fire. An additional 2 hours were spent extinguishing hot spots and checking for extension. Forestry responded to the incident and assisted with extinguishing several limited access areas in the woods.

2 firefighters were injured during the incident but did not require EMS treatment.

Approximately 75 volunteers operated on the incident for 3 hours.
