At 0757 hours, Chief 2A & Rescue Squad 2 responded to the area of Budds Creek Road and Mechanicsville Road in Mechanicsville, for a Motor Vehicle Accident involving an overturned fuel oil delivery truck carrying an unknown hazardous material with the driver reported trapped.

Crews arrived on the scene to find the vehicle off the roadway and overturned in an embankment, with the occupant out of the vehicle. The truck was leaking a large amount of product, which was determined to be kerosene and diesel fuel.

One patient was transported to an area hospital Priority 3 by Mechanicsville Paramedic Ambulance 297.

Crews operated on scene for approximately 3 hours.
