Units Handle Chimney Fire

At 1930 hours, Stations 2, Charles 2, Truck 7 and Ambulance 297 were alerted to Mechanicsville Road in the area of Little Ranch Lane for the reported chimney fire. Initial reports advised a call was received advising a neighbors chimney was on fire next to 28008 Mechanicsville Road.

Engine 21 (Sgt Raley) and the Chief were in the area attempting to locate the residence when they were flagged down by a vehicle. The incident was actually located on the Little Ranch Lane. Engine 21 laid the 4" LDH into the scene and arrived on side "alpha" to find a one story, single family residence with fire showing from the chimney. The lineman advanced a crosslay to the front porch while another crew threw ladders and went to the roof.

Engine 24 picked up the water supply and Chief 2 established the "Little Ranch Lane Command". After the situation was mitigated, command scaled the incident back to the units from Company 2, Truck 7 and the ambulance.

Units operated on the scene for an hour.
