Rescue Squad 2 Leaves for New Home

Rescue Squad 2 left for its new home today. The Conover Fire Department, located in North Carolina, purchased our 1999 Spartan/Saulsbury heavy rescue and came to complete the necessary paperwork and pick up the unit. Chief Mark Henson and crew arrived at Station 2 at approximately 1015 hours.

Members of Conover had been up a couple weeks prior to look over the unit, drive it and made the department an offer a few days later.

After a quick overview of the unit to include the use of the cascade system, Apparatus Chairperson Guyther and Chief Henson completed the necessary paperwork in order to finalize the sale. Chief Raley signed over the title to the unit, which sealed the deal.

Firefighters pushed the rescue out of the station for its last time with the Fire Chief behind the wheel.

We wish the members of the Conover Fire Department the best of luck with the unit and know it will serve the citizens they protect well just as it did here for the last twelve and a half years.

Stay tuned for additional pictures of the unit as Conover transitions the unit into their fleet.
