On June 1st the membership took on the project of detailing Engine 21, a 1989 Pierce Lance, 1250GPM 750GWT pumper. Engine 21 has responded on incidents for the past 31 years, and first due from 1989 to 2003. Since 2016, Engine 21 responds first out for 2-3 months out of the year.
The Volunteers spent over 70+ man hours working one Engine 21 in 5 days. The unit was cleaned top to bottom, to include the under carriage and roof, hose beds, compartments, interior, and a full 3 step buff to the paint, and polished all metal.
So with that, we hope you can take a moment to appreciate the time and work put into the "Old Girl" and see the pride that is put into our apparatus.
**Engine 21 is the oldest Class-A apparatus in service in St. Mary's County. |
