On Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at 2124 hours, Company 2 was dispatched to a serious motor vehicle accident in the area of Point Lookout Road and Marion Drive in Mechanicsville.

Chief 2B, Squad 2, and Engine 23 arrived to find a single vehicle had left the roadway, collided with a utility pole. The sole occupant had self-extricated and was found suffering from a severe arm injury. Police officers on scene quickly applied a tourniquet before our arrival.

A request was made for a flyout. However, weather conditions grounded all helicopters. Ambulance 296 transported the patient to a nearby trauma center for further medical care.

Units were on scene for approximately 30 minutes.
