Department mourns the loss of Past President James F. Mattingly, III

It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Past President James “Jimmy” F. Mattingly, III. Jimmy has served 40+ years with the fire service. He was a Past President of Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., Past President of Solomon’s Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, and Past President of the Southern Maryland Volunteer Firemen’s Association. He was also a member of the Mechanicsville Volunteer Rescue Squad. Not only did he serve on numerous committees for his companies, he also served on committees for Southern Maryland Volunteer Firemen’s Association and Maryland State Firemen’s Association. He will be greatly missed by all.

Arrangements are as follows:

Visitation: Friday, June 23, 2017, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Prayers: 7:00 p.m. with Fire Department prayers at 7:15 p.m.
Location: Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. (Station 2)

Service Information: Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.

Internment Information: St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery

He will be greatly missed. I served as Secretary at Solomon's when he was president. Truly a wonderful person. R.I.P
